Dr Roger Allen's Respiratory Laboratory is available for the convenience of your patients without necessity of a respiratory consultation unless you request this. It is hoped that this facility will make your respiratory workup more interesting and comprehensive. It uses modern Jaeger equipment and we use a disposable viral filter mouthpiece on each patient to prevent cross-infection.

** Mannitol (Aridol) Challenge will only be done on patients with suspected asthma where their spirometry is normal or near normal. The prerequisites for a Mannitol (Aridol) test will be forwarded to you and/or the patient before the test. This is a very strict test and to obtain a reliable result a few guidelines have to be followed. Click here to download a Mannitol Information Sheet.
Results Results with a typed report can be faxed to you immediately after the test. I am also available to discuss results by phone or e-mail. Clinical advice will be given on each report where ever possible.

Transport
Parking is available in the building. The Wesley Medical Centre is directly opposite the Auchenflower train station. Buses to the Wesley Hospital stop along Coronation drive, please be advise that although it is in close walking distance, you will have to walk up a steep hill.
Fees
My staff will provide you with information regarding fees. We accept DVA Gold Cards and discounts are available for pensioners. Please note that payment is on the day of the test. Patients can pay by EFTPOS as well as by most credit cards.
